Preparing tile installations for baths, showers, and countertops is traditionally very time-consuming. And water damage from imperfections in the underlying structure can lead to expensive and wasteful repairs down the road. But fear not – Schluter Kerdi-board substrate is a waterproof, dimensionally stable substrate board that makes perfect installations a breeze.
The sealed foam board is waterproof, temperature resistant, impact resistant, and thermally insulating. The fleece facing provides solid adhesion for thin-set mortar. In addition to wall and floor substrates, Kerdi-board is strong enough to be used for freestanding partition walls and countertops.
Kerdi-board contains no cement or fiberglass, and can be cut with a simple utility knife. It features pre-printed gridlines for easy cutting, it comes in a variety of thicknesses, and grooved panels are available for L-shapes, U-shapes, and even curves. As a bonus, the material’s light weight doesn’t just make insulation easier – it reduces the amount of energy needed for transportation, and even the shaped panels are shipped flat for efficiency.
