In a couple recent articles, we’ve looked at the water- and money-saving potential of dual-flush toilets and low flush designs. But now Texas-based Niagara Conservation has taken water conservation to the next level with an ultra high-efficiency toilet that’s extremely quiet, and doesn’t sacrifice any flushing performance.
The Stealth toilet uses a patented hydraulic system to deliver powerful, “one-flush-is-all-it-takes” performance. The aptly named Stealth is extremely quiet, and uses just 0.8 gallons of water per flush (pretty impressive, considering most modern water-efficient toilets are 1.6 gpf models that use twice that amount.)
Besides saving money on utility bills, substantially cutting your household water usage is also an environmental win-win. You’ll put less strain on water resources, and also cut the amount of wastewater that needs to be treated once it flows out of your house. The Stealth toilet is EPA WaterSense certified, and also earns credits toward LEED certification.
The Niagara Stealth toilet retails for around $300, but it’s currently on sale at Amazon for about $180.
