SoyTuf ReCork: DIY Cork Countertop Refinishing
Cork countertops are both eco-friendly and stylish. So what if you could enjoy a cork countertop without the waste and expense of removing your old counter? SoyTuf has the solution, a do-it-yourself system called ReCork which allows homeowners to refinish existing surfaces with cork.
The ReCork system uses granulated cork (recycled waste from industrial cork production) and soy-based low-VOC sealants. How does it work? After preparing the surface simply add a coat of epoxy then apply an even layer of the granulated cork material. After vacuuming away excess granules, apply a layer of the clear finish coat to form a seal. The countertop can then be sanded and re-sealed if needed to achieve the desired finish.
